This week I interviewed Dora, one of our top performing Sponsorship Sales Managers in the Singapore Office. Originally from China, Dora joined the IQPC Asian team when she moved to Singapore in 2012. Since then Dora has worked passionately and tirelessly to help build our exiting and profitable Asian defence portfolio. Here’s what she had to say about life at IQPC…
When did your IQPC career begin?
What is your current role and responsibilities?
I’m the Sponsorship Portfolio Director for Defence and Government Events in Asia. I’m responsible for building partnerships with regional governments & Ministries of Defence, driving new business and delivering consistent and steady year on year revenue growth for the portfolio.
What initially attracted you to join the conference industry?
I was excited by the opportunity and platform to enhance my skills and capability and become a reputable and consultative sales professional in the defence community

What do you enjoy about IQPC life?
I enjoy working together with a group of talented people who are passionate about what they do. I also appreciate the opportunity to learn from the senior management about business acumen, the mentality and mindset, how they effectively run a fast-pace business in such a competitive playground

Continuously evolve yourself, this is the key to building capability and adapting to new challenges and opportunities

Stay focused, do the right thing and cover the market
What advice would you give a new starter in the business?
Put your head down, get your hands dirty and put the hours in.
