Tampa is believed to be named from the Calusa phrase “Sticks of Fire” and apparently once you’ve seen the summer lightning storms you’ll know why.

Its number one export is now Phosphate but it used to Cigars and it’s home to the world’s longest continuous side walk, Bayshore Boulevard – a staggering 4.5 miles!  Tampa also houses a Big Cat sanctuary, although cuddling the lions is neither sanctioned nor recommended.
